The Government of India has identified that M2M/ Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the fastest emerging technologies across the globe, providing enormous beneficial opportunities for society, industry, and consumers. It is being used to create smart infrastructure in various verticals such as Power, Automotive, Safety & Surveillance, Remote Health Management, Agriculture, Smart Homes, Industry 4.0, Smart Cities, etc. using connected devices. Important parameters for a large-size M2M network are scalability, interoperability and efficiency. To support such large size deployments, the Government has adopted international standards set by the OneM2M alliance and Release 2 standards were adopted in January ‘20 as national standards through TEC, the technical wing of DoT.
Topic: A webinar is being scheduled to disseminate awareness among the M2M Service Providers about the CCSP (CDOT Common Service Platform) and CoSMiC (Common SMart IoT Connectivity, by CDAC), which are the indigenously developed, OneM2M compliant software platforms for enabling M2M Communications. Broadly, these platforms are the middleware software that sits between M2M application and communication hardware/software and provides functions that M2M applications commonly need.
